Federico Rota was a member of the local opera choir, the Teatro Regio di Parma, from 1980 to 2000. He then served on the Teatro Regio's artistic committee as a freelance consultant. He was co-author of the biographies of Ettore Bastianini and Franco Corelli and published in various magazines.
