The appeal against the DNO has unfortunately been lost, and also in a very unsatisfactory manner: the arguments of the other party have been accepted, ours hardly discussed, misunderstood or completely ignored.
In any case, there is clarity. Of course, I’m going to review DNO again (they didn’t think they were rid of me, did they?), but not yet the opening performance on 5 September, because I won’t be in Amsterdam then. A (very good) backup takes over from me.
It’s not chic, and certainly not for the unsuccessful party, to criticise a court ruling. Nevertheless, I would like to share with you one hilarious argument of the court. With regard to the right of free news gathering , it should be noted, says the court, that for each opera performance there are programme booklets available at EUR 10. 😊
